Your Most Important Role

Lately, I have been reflecting on all of the many roles I have in this season. Out of all of them, I realize that the most important one is to practice compassion as a human being.

From compassion flows a capacity to meet myself where I am as well as others.

From compassion comes an acceptance of others as they are and not as they should be.

From compassion arises an understanding that I am not what I do, say, or think and neither are others in what they do, say, or think.

From compassion I can realize that thoughts, speech, and actions do not define me or others as static individuals.

From compassion I can practice a greater sense of appreciation for the many roles I do have in this season as they all teach me valuable lessons.

May this be a reminder to cultivate compassion within yourself, friend.
