Setbacks

Setbacks are not permanent. They are a reminder to slow down and listen carefully to your body and mind so you can adjust your roles or to-do list (or both) accordingly.

While it is not easy to step back because of a setback, I encourage you to consider whether a setback can offer you the following opportunities:

  • To slow down and release your grip on your goals

  • To reflect on our mistake(s) and learn lessons deeply embedded within you

  • To experience the highs and lows of it all and navigate strong waves with acceptance and curiosity.

  • To pause and reflect on what you truly need in the present moment.

  • To embrace rest and recuperation unapologetically.

  • To reconnect with your intention(s) and chart a new path for yourself.

  • To deeply understand yourself, your strengths, and your capacities.

Setbacks are an inevitable part of any journey. Through the practice of yoga, we can transform these moments of difficulty into powerful lessons, nurturing our capacity for compassion—toward ourselves and others—while reinforcing our commitment to growth and progress. The journey isn't always linear; through setbacks, we discover the strength within us to rise again.
